Nothing is a surprise to God. Not one single thing. God know’s exactly what we are going to do before we even think about doing it. God knows exactly what we are going to say before we even formulate the words in our brain, and although I do believe God has granted us a certain amount of free will – that in turn translates to there being infinite possibilities/outcomes for the trajectory of our lives.. I believe God STILL KNOWS exactly what choices we are going to make.
So then the question is.. What is the point of all of this? Well that is a question only God can answer – but I do have a few theories. Primarily, I think it’s for the plot! I mean do you really think that God would have created Satan as his right hand man and then been totally bamboozled by Satan trying to overthrow him? Some people probably believe that, but I don’t. I think God created Satan with a purpose just as he has created each and everyone of us with a purpose. Our free will and right to choose, especially when we know the consequences of our actions, says more about us and who we are than anything else. It’s revealing ourselves to ourselves.
Light and darkness don’t mix – or so I’m told. In an energetic sense I suppose I agree, but they do serve to ‘balance’ each other out.. Somewhat. Light will always overcome darkness. Anyway, the devil and his counterparts serve as the representation for darkness. When the devil decided that it was a good idea to try to step to his creator, he chose darkness and was removed from heaven. It’s still not clear to me why God decided to make humans but again the theory is “for the plot” so just try to stay with me.
When God created us – originally his mindless action figures – he did so with the intent that we would be obedient to him and that the outcome would be positive. The thing is that we weren’t completely “mindless” because God gave us the gift of free will. So although we may want to take it there, “mindless” isn’t really the correct term. What would be more fitting to me would be “innocent”. God created us to be innocent.
The hard part for us to understand I think is why wouldn’t God just keep us innocent if that’s what he wanted? Wouldn’t that have been easier? maybe. If you understand that the gift of free will is in fact just that – a gift -then maybe these concepts will be easier to grasp. God wanted us to be his innocent little children but he also wanted to be fair and grant us the gift of choice. That if we were to choose that (knowledge- which also comes with power- and with great power comes with great responsibility), then we would have to face the consequences for our actions just like everything else.
So do you think it took God by surprise that we acted upon our free will and chose knowledge? I think God knew exactly what we were going to do and maybe still was disappointed. What I would imagine a parent feels when they try to warn their child about something dangerous but the child doesn’t listen. At the end of the day, a parent can only tell their child what they feel the right thing is, but it’s up to the individual to make the decision. If you created a world, don’t you think it’s only right that you’re able to create the terms and conditions of that world? God has the power to control our every move like the helpless puppets on a string that we are, but instead he chooses to be gracious enough to give us our freedom. The freedom of choice.
Now let’s fast forward out of the Garden of Eden and into modern day. God still knows everything, we still can’t hide from God, (never could) but it still tickles me how people think that we can do things “secretly” that God doesn’t know about. Like the only time God knows what we’re up to is when we “confess” to him. Confessing our wrongs is again, more for us so that we can be real with ourselves. God already knew what you were going to do before you even knew you were going to do it. The idea that we could ever tip toe around God on this green Earth that HE MADE is bizarre to me.
Now for the big question. “If God already knows everything then God knows if I’m going to heaven or hell already so what’s the point?” Well if you think that way then yea, what is the point? You’re just not even going to try to be a good person? So what you’re saying essentially, and revealing about yourself, is that you have already accepted your fate and you have CHOSEN eternal damnation by default. Not even because of extenuating circumstances, you literally just forfeit because you didn’t like the system.
If this is you, please don’t think I’m judging you for your choices. I’m just trying to bring to light the fact that you have made a choice, and you played into the same system that you hate. In that, you had no choice. If you haven’t noticed.. none of us had a choice in BEING here, but we do have a choice in getting out of here, and can decide to play a good game and win. In no other game than the game of life, have I ever experienced the phenomenon of so many people voluntarily choosing to be sore losers.
The thing about God is that God is always constantly reaching for his children. God does this so as to try to change our minds because of his love for us. Tough love is hard to comprehend if you’ve never experienced or dealt it. I have a pretty good concept for this, and I can tell you that from my experience with our Lord, some of it IS tough love, but mostly, especially in the moments where I can feel the supernatural energy reaching for me, I can attest that this love is in fact quite gentle.
As much as I wanted to leave it right there, I know you need more. In the same way, God knows we need more. That’s why you have miracles, signs, and wonders. That’s why God sends people your way to speak to your spirit and try to save your soul. It’s why God put a fire in me to use a portion of my life force energy to give give give because I get it, and I want you to have what I have. I want you to have eternal life without suffering.
I’m a Flower that is constantly growing. Can we be Buds? Can we root for each other and watch each other grow? Thank you for visiting my blog. Stay a little while longer, and read a little bit more. Until next time, XOXO
